The Chainsmokers promised that they would keep coming back to the Philippines for the Filipino Pack!
Time and again, the Grammy-winning DJ duo has reminded Filipino fans how important they are to them. During their massive show at the Mall of Asia Arena last year, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart proved that the Philippines will always have a special place in their hearts!
One year later, The Chainsmokers performed in the same venue but for a crowd twice as big! Drew - who provides vocals for some of their songs - went on a trip down memory lane before performing their smash hit "Closer" at the Manila leg of their Memories... Do Not Open tour!
"Yo. This is the first arena we've ever played in our entire lives. The Philippines last year was the biggest Chainsmokers show we've ever done of all time. And I know the Ultra thing is tomorrow. And I'm just so blessed to like come back with Alex and play with him that's like twice the size for so many of our Filipino fans. And we'll keep coming back again and again and again for you," he said.
"So last year, we just came out with this song. And the first time I got a crowd singing along with me to that is right here. Right here. If you were there, you know what I'm talking about. You got me, and it made us believe in ourselves, and so I thank you guys for this one. So maybe tonight is as twice the size so we can sing twice as loud. We will see," he continued.
Before hitting the stage, The Chainsmokers received their MYX Music Awards 2017 trophy for "Closer" which won Favorite International Video!
